媒介染料是一類酸性染料，原稱酸性媒介染料。染料分子結(jié)構(gòu)中含有能與金屬離子絡(luò)合的基團(tuán)，染色時(shí)或染色后，需用金屬媒染劑處理，以提高被染物的色牢度。常用的媒染劑是鉻鹽，有時(shí)也用銅鹽、鋁鹽、鐵鹽等。主要用于蛋白質(zhì)纖維的染色，也可用于聚酰胺纖維的染色。使用媒介染料著色的織物，具有較高的耐曬（色）牢度和耐皂洗（色）牢度，但色光較暗；同時(shí)在印染廢水中常含有重金屬離子，增加三廢治理的難度。
